Stress and problems are an inevitable part of life. Most of the time we can cope with them and carry on without any issues. However, things can happen that mean that coping with the ups and downs of life is not so easy.
Added to this are the emotional traumas we may have experienced as a child which cause us to have difficulty dealing with stressors in day to day life as an adult.
Often when we suffer from aches and pains, these are related to the way we are feeling, and what we are dealing with in our life at that time.
Our bodies react to the way we think, the way we act and the way we feel. When we are anxious then our body reacts - you might get a stomach ache, or a headache, for instance. Not only that, when we are chronically stressed our body is constantly in flight or fight mode which means the body cannot function at it's best.
Fortunately there are tools and methods to improve both our physical AND emotional health which don't involve taking medication.
I work within a multi-disciplinary holistic team which means that I am able to refer you to other professionals when it is appropriate.
I'm Sue Jaycock and I have been a complementary therapist for over 20 years. I started off as a Massage Therapist, then became a Bowen Therapist and as my career progressed I realised the massive impact that stress and anxiety have on the body. The mind and body are intrinsically linked.
I also enjoy teaching and offer a range of one day wellbeing workshops, longer courses and online courses.
