Aromatherapy Recipes for Insomnia
Wouldn’t it be nice to sleep like this baby? There are times when we just can’t sleep for whatever reason. I have put together a few essential oil recipes for when insomnia strikes.
- 3 drops Lavender
- 3 drops Ylang Ylang
- 2 drops Roman Chamomile
- 15 ml carrier lotion or sweet almond oil or grapeseed oil
Cotton Wool Ball:
- 10 drops Roman Chamomile
- 5 drops Clary Sage
- 5 drops Bergamot
- Cotton Wool Balls or tissue
- Small dark coloured glass bottle
A note of caution, do not use too many drops of essential oil with the mistaken idea that this will enhance the sedative qualities – in fact too much of an essential oil can have the opposite effect. Avoid oils such as rosemary, grapefruit and peppermint as these will keep you wide awake. Always take care with essential oils, although they are a natural product, they are also very potent.
